Our thoughts are with you Matt. We feel for you and your family at this time of loss.
I just wanted to express condolences. Thinking about you guys and sending love.
Hi, I wrote this letter to Adam and Nikki, but really it is to your family, so I hope you don't mind if I post it here since I don't have an email address for Matt: I just wanted to let you know I am thinking of you and your extended family right now. I am far away from Naperville, yet am still here mourning this great loss with you, as I am sure many others are who cannot be there in person to tell your family how beloved a person your dad was. He always made me feel so comfortable and loved. He was so kind and friendly to me, even my first day at church in an immodest dress, and along with feeling nervous being at church for the first time, I remembered "that kind man" who said hello to me and shook my hand with so firm a grip, and such a friendly smile, that it took me off guard. I know it seems like a simple and insignificant thing, but to me it wasn't. I loved him very much and always loved that I saw him in Adam; especially his sense of humor and kindness. It is such a sad and inspiring thing to have to say goodbye to someone who lived such a valiant life. It has made me stop and think many times these past few days of the waste it is to be worried about the superficial things I often dwell on (like losing 15 pounds or whether the carpets are vacuumed)- wondering if I am living my life in such a way that I am able to leave behind a legacy of such love and devotion as Kim Johnson has. He will be dearly missed here by me, and I believe that my children and their children to come owe this wonderful man a debt of gratitude for the way he touched my life and helped me to embrace the gospel, through his example and the example of his wife and children. We are always told that we, as members of the church need to behave as if people are watching- thank you, Johnson family, I was watching.
Matt-Just wanted to let you know that we are thinking of you. All the best. Jon & Sara
