1/2 Way!!!

Well folks.... It has been 4 weeks since I had surgery. Part of me thinks "Wow, it's gone fast" But then I remember I still have 4 more weeks left. To celebrate my half way point I thought I would make a list of a few things I have learned, the good and the bad, since being on crutches.

1. Sometimes it is just easier to crawl, hop or scoot
2. Going up stairs SUCKS!
3. As nice as it sounds...wearing Yoga pants, t-shirts and running shoes (umm...shoe) to work everyday gets old. Who would have thought I would miss wearing work pants and heels?!
4. I think twice about everything...am I really that hungry. I usually am THAT hungry but I think twice about it :)
5. Wearing a back pack everywhere just to carry the essentials gets annoying...I want to use a cute hand bag!
6. Having a handicap pass is kind of nice.
7. I have limited my drinking consumption at night because getting up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom is such an ordeal that it takes FOREVER to fall back asleep.
8. The muscle in my casted leg is diminishing at an astonishing rate while my good leg always gets a workout from hopping everywhere.
9. Seeing sunshine, blue skies and 40's really makes me sad I am not outside running or even walking!
10. Being on crutches is a great excuse to get out of ANYTHING!

I keep reminding myself that I am just glad that my injury is temporary and FIXABLE. This whole thing has given me a great appreciation for every part of my body. Especially my legs.

Now, the part you have been waiting for... PICTURES!

These pictures were taken at the doctors office 2 weeks after surgery

Look at my pudgy toes!

I chose a pink cast
