Today was a sad day. After 10 weeks of training, 268 miles including a 17 mile long run and a mini breakdown I finally decided to drop out of the marathon. I have always thought I was so lucky to run for over 10 years and never had to deal with an injury...well the time has come that it is my turn. I have a split tibial tendon. The marathon is 39 days away and I am supposed to stay off my foot for 6 weeks. After that I will be re-evaluated to see if surgery has to be done. So while Renae and Laura are running I will be on the sidelines in my ankle brace and boot being their biggest cheerleader. Good Luck! I miss our long runs already.

Just a side note...Matt and I make quite a pair. Him in his knee brace and me in my boot. People at work keep wondering if their was some type of domestic dispute.

I am very sad that I lost my running partner! It was so much easier to get up in the morning knowing that you were waiting for me. Hopefully you will heal and be better than ever.
Sharon that sucks about the marathon. You better get your boating on, because we are going on Friday and Saturday. I am so happy I got the new wakeskate today and the new slalom boot!!!
NO!!! Sharon, I'm so sorry! I hope you heal fast & heal completely. I'm sure this won't stop you from entering to run again next year. You're amazing.
We really do miss running with you. You are a great runner and I know you will be back. I kind of want to thank you for sitting this one out though, so one time in my life I can beat you across the finish line :)
I forgot to mention...thanks for the rice krispie treats post...I made them last night for FHE and I think I ate half the pan!
That has got to be super frustrating - it's just too bad Matt's beat up, too so he can't wait on you while you're healing!
That is such a bummer about the marathon! BOOOOOO Oh well at least we will have someone else to join the cheering section.
You and Matt should have family pictures ..... it would be great on your Christmas card..... :)
yeah! More time to IM with me since you can't run! It is my lucky day!
Oh Sharon that stinks! That has got to be so frustrating. Is this the same foot that you broke back in junior high??
